Milan, Italy:

AC Milan’s experienced forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice but also missed an open goal as he helped AC Milan secure a 2-0 win against Bologna with a victorious start to their Serie A campaign on Monday 21st September.

Zlatan scored his first goal in the 35th minute breaking the deadlock and second goal was added in just five minutes after the break.

“If I was 20-years-old, I’d have scored another two,” said Ibrahimovic, who has 14 goals in 22 matches since returning for a second stint at Milan in January.

Zlatan who turns 39 in less than two weeks, said “If I was 20-years-old, I’d have scored another two. I don’t want people to talk about my age, I want to be treated the same as everyone else. It doesn’t matter if I am 38, I want to be treated like someone aged 20 and do the same work.”

Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic identified Ibrahimovic as the difference between the two sides.

At first the referee awarded a free kick but later on altered his decision to a penalty after turning to the VAR officials and finding that Ibrahimovic launched the ball into the top right-hand corner.

Bringing down Bennacer moved a step ahead after being tackled by Riccardo Orsolini after the break. Bologna was a little late on through Federico Santander, after defender Mitchell Dijks was sent off following a second yellow card.

This time one thousand spectators were allowed into the San Siro under COVID-19 regulations and Milan invited local healthcare workers to take those places.
