Manchester City made an acing comeback to 3-1 win over Porto. Ferran Torres came off the bench to score an impressive individual goal and complete Manchester City’s comeback in a 3-1 win over Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday 22nd October.

The 20-year-old Spain’s international player exchanged passes with fellow substitute Phil Foden before getting inside and into the area, dropping his shoulder and curling a shot high into the net in the 73rd minute for City’s third goal.

Pep Guardiola’s earlier team relied on dead-ball situations to control its lack of flow going forward and bounce back from going behind to Luis Diaz’s 14th-minute encloser for Porto, which returned to the Champions League after a year of absence.

After Raheem Sterling was bundled over by Pepe, to equalize with his first goal since March, Sergio Aguero converted a penalty six minutes later.

City’s right back Kyle Walker produced an acrobatic goal-line clearance to stop Porto going back in front just before halftime, and Ilkay Gundogan kept the hosts ahead in the 65th by nestling a free kick over the defensive wall and into the net from 25 yards (meters).

City unfolding its recent bid to become European champion for the first time in its history found Porto hard to break and clearly missed the creativity of injured midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, while Aguero lasted 67 minutes.

The goal his team conceded would have been disappointing to Guardiola.

“It is nice to win games suffering. The last 10, 15 minutes of the first half and the start of the second we played well. Teams that set up with lots at the back, you have to wait for your moment. We adjusted a little something at the end of the first half. We spoke about being patient, we had to be patient and at the right moment attack them.” City manager Pep Guardiola said.
