Shubman Gill’s innings led KKR to a 7 wicket win over SRH

David Warner chose to bat first winning the toss and the team posed a total of 142/4, but fell 15-20 runs shorts as the score was easily chased by Knight Riders.

Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh’s cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was off to a good start after they were restricted at 142/4. Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner chose to bat first after winning the toss.

But KKR’s opener Shubman Gill had other plans. His elegant hit 70 runs in 62 balls and won KKR the match almost single handed by seven-wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. David Warner took the blame on himself for not batting out the overs and ensuring a total safe side for his team.

Dinesh Karthik Captained side chased down a total of 143 with 12 balls left. Man of the Match Shubman Gill and Eoin Morgan remained on strike at 70 and 42 respectively.

KKR bowlers displayed efficient performances. Pat Cummins stood out for KKR with figures of 1/19 from four overs.

From SRH, David Warner scored 36 runs from 30 balls and Pandey scored 51 runs. This year in IPL – so far all the captains have chosen to bowl first after winning the toss. But Warner, breaking the trend chose to bat first.
