Rock World Mourns, Entire World Pays Tribute To Guitar God: Eddie Van Halen

When the world was thinking of 2020 to get a little better, very sad news came as the ‘Guitar God’ for guitar generations Eddie Van Halen passed away after a prolonged fight with throat cancer. His song Wolfgang Van Halen tweeted about his demise.

Guitar god to rock generations and the founder of the band ‘Van Halen,’ Eddie Van Halen died at the age of 65. Eddie died on Tuesday morning after a long battle with throat cancer.

His son Wolfgang Van Halen tweeted about the demise of his father, “I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.”

The tweet further read, “He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss.”

Eddie was known for his charismatic and imaginative guitar playing. He was also revered as one of the best guitarist of all time. His guitar playing techniques revived the rock style in the 70’s and 80’s, when the world was thinking of no more than classic hard rock playing.

Eddie formed his band after his family name Van Halen with his older brother Alex Van Halen (drummer); the siblings joined by vocalist David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony in the first recording lineup of the group.

He was born in Netherlands and was raised in Pasadena, California.

Eddie got his fame by his exploding guitar techniques, his solo showcase “Eruption” fetch him the name. The solo showcase was Eddie’s self-titled 1978 debut album for Warner Bros., showed the world that Eddie is sorcerer with many spell bindings licks and techniques.

Band’s first LP, “Van Halen,” sold 10 million copies. Band’s first and only No. 1 single, “The synthesizer-driven “Jump,”” made it to top 10 spot in US billboard.

Eddie had a conflict with his lead singer over his extracurricular work Michael Jackson’s single “Beat It” in 1983, which was a hit worldwide. Eddie played a very powerful solo in it.

On his demise all the famous personalities around the world came to mourn as they pay tribute to the legend. Brian Wilson, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Lommi, Robert Downey Jr., Slash, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Page, Jason Alexander, Red Hot Chili Peppers flea, David Lee Roth, Steven Tyler, Nickelback, Aerosmith, and many more. All paid their last respects to Eddie with teary eyes.
