Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Allowed To Meet Hathras Victim’s Family

Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi and party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been allowed UP administration to enter into Uttar Pradesh and travel to Hathras to meet the rape victim’s family.

This is the second attempt of Gandhi family to meet the meet the Hathras victim’s family. Earlier on 01-October, Thursday, Rahul Gandhi was shoved to ground UP Police on Greater Noida highway and later Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were arrested in the felony of large gathering in banned area due to coronavirus pandemic.

Gandhis were taken to a guest house and then were flown to Delhi. Rahul Gandhi said that they were lathicharged and was pushed to ground.

Today, according to some reports, UP police was instructed to do not allow the Gandhi family to cross the UP border. Visuals from ANI show the heavy presence of UP police on the highways toll plaza.

Today, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were accompanied by 30 Congress MLAs including Shashi Tharoor to speak to the victim’s family.

In the morning Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Nothing in the world can stop me from going to Hathras to meet this unhappy family to share their pain.”

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also tweeted before leaving to Hathras, “If not this time, then we will try again.”

In a bite to ANI, the Joint Magistrate of Hathras Prem Prakash Meena said that MR. Gandhi would not be allowed to enter the village, the access to village has been cut off by Yogi Adityanath government, citing the concerns of coronavirus contamination in the ongoing investigation.

The Noida Additional DCP Ranvijay Singh said, “They are violating Section 144 (orders banning large gatherings). We are deployed here to control the unlawful assembling of people. We are appealing for peace amid the COVID-19 outbreak.”

A 20-year old ‘Dalit’ girl died due to gang-rape and heinous injurious in Delhi hospital on September 29. She was gang-raped by four ‘Upper Caste’ men. They all were arrested by UP police.

The Allahabad High Court has taken notice of the case and has summoned the top officials of the UP government and police to appear in the court before October 12.
