PSG’s Neymar given 2 match ban for red card, Alvaro being investigated for using racist language

Ligue’s team No.1Team Paris St. German’s Forward Neymar has been banned for 2 matches after he entered into a brawl with Olympique de Marseille’s Alvaro Gonzalez in last Sunday’s blazing1-0 defeat in France Ligue 1. The Organisers informed this on Wednesday 16th September.

The Olympique de Marseille’s stated that defender Alvaro was being investigated after he was accused of using racist language towards the Brazilian footballer during the match. The league’s statement said “Regarding Alvaro Gonzalez, given the nature of the facts, the Commission has decided to place the case under investigation.”

The mass brawl’s halting time led to the sent off of five players. The weightiest penalty was passed on to PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa which expanded for six-match, for his role in the clash in the match’s end between opponents while Marseille defender Jordan Amavi was banned for three matches.

Neymar, who is currently the world’s most expensive player, was spontaneously suspended from Wednesday’s 1-0 win above Metz for the red card, along with team mate Leandro Paredes, and both players were also suspended from Sunday’s game at Nice.

Neymar and Paredes will make return against Stade de Reims on Sept. 27.

Dario Benedetto, Marseille striker was suspended from one game while PSG’s Angel di Maria, was not punished for the fight despite being booked, but was called to attend a meeting of the league’s disciplinary committee next Wednesday.

Neymar explained lashing out at Alvaro by saying the Spaniard had racially abused him. Alvaro denied Neymar’s allegation.
