Mumbai’s Uber office shuts down, No halts in services

At a global level Uber has declared of reducing recruitment teams and customer services for 6,700 total employees.

Mumbai: Uber office in Mumbai has been shut down but will not put any halt on providing services around the city.

The sources have informed that ceasing of office in the city was the part of restructuring exercise globally, as in May CEO, Dara Khosrowshai of Uber wrote to his employees about the decision on shutting down nearly 45 offices across the globe.

In May itself Uber announced of firing at least 600 of its employees in India because of the economic downfall and loss due to COVID-19 lockdown impositions.

On reaching to a spokesperson of Uber as reported by Deccan Chronicle he was quoted, “ Uber continues to provide a high level of services to all its riders in Mumbai,” assures of the Uber rides would continue in the city. Uber employees had continued working from home amidst thje pandemic and will continue the same according to reports.
