MI trounces over KKR by 49 runs, ‘Hitman’ Rohit plays Captain’s knock

Defeating KKR by 49 runs on account of Rohit Sharma’s fabulous knocks of 80 runs including 6 sixes MI opened its victory account in IPL.

After starting off its IPL Campaign on a poor note, Mumbai Indians rallied by a fair margin winning their second match against KKR by 49 runs in Abu Dhabi. Chasing 195 runs, Kolkata Night Riders fell short by 49 runs.

MI easily managed to score 195/8 in 20 overs owing to fabulous knocks by Captain Rohit Sharma (80) and Suryakumar Yadav (47). KKR’s Pat Cummins prove to be quite expensive giving 49 run in just 3 overs and was constantly penalized for bowling short balls.

Kieron Pollard (13 not out of 7) and Hardik (18 off 13) also played short but contributing cameo of aggression. MI’s bowling was outstanding.

KKR Openers Gill and Narine failed miserably scoring only 9 and 7 runs respectively. Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik made a partnership of 46 runs on the third wicket but could not extend it.

Rohit Sharma was given man of the match for his knock.
