James Cameron Completes “Avatar-2” Amid Four Months Of Pushback Due To Coronavirus Shutdown

The film industry has seen many changes in the last few years. Movies like Avengers, Inception, Gravity and Avatar in which animation has emerged as a major change. With the changing and new possibilities to think and show something out of the world make the creator to go beyond imagination.

Avatar movie was released in 2009, and the die-hard fans are waiting for the sequel as it was announced by the director James Cameron.

Here is the good news for the fans of Avatar. James Cameron has said that the most awaited sequel is 100% completed.

Since a long time, the whole production team was working on this film, and due to COVID-19 the film has been delayed eight times, but now the filmmaker Cameron officially announced that the live-action movie  Avatar part 2 is 100 % completed and is ready to be on screens.

Not only had the news of Avatar’s sequel excited the fans, Cameron said in an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger that, he is shooting the third instalment in the franchise which is being simultaneously shot in New Zealand.

In Austrian World Summit environmental conference, 2020, Cameron attended the session in which he was taking to Schwarzenegger and shared that the film is facing so much of the crisis, due to coronavirus pandemic shutdown, and the shutdown slowed the filming process which started back in August 2017 in California.

He further said, “We lost about four-and-a-half months of production. As a result of that we rolled [the premiere date] around one more full year for a release in December of 2022.”

The legendary director and the writers announced that live action filming for Avatar-2 was completed and ‘95% done with Avatar-3.’ He told that he and his entire production team are feeling quite lucky that they had chosen New Zealand for Avatar film production many years ago. (Considering, its first or second in the world for its COVID-19 response).

“We are able to operate. We’re able to shoot, and we’re able to more or less have a normal life here right now. So we’re very fortunate. So I don’t see any roadblocks to use getting the picture finished — getting both pictures finished,” he said to Schwarzenegger, who has starred in three of Cameron’s films: The Terminator (1984), Terminator-2: Judgment Day (1991) and True Lies (1994).

Avatar-2 took twelve years to come back on screens with more power pack performance as Jake Sulky who is playing as (Sam Worthington) this time he come up with a new family with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and  with that he continues to roam the planet of Pandora.

The film also stars – Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

So the most awaited movie Avatar-2 will be released in December 16, 2022 and Avatar-3 will be released on December 20, 2024.

Cameron also announced that if these two movies will be giving positive response from critic and fans, there are plans to make two more sequels of Avatar franchise, which will be released on December 18, 2026 and another one on December 22, 2028.

However the first apart of Avatar was released in 2009 which earned $2.79 billion worldwide becoming the highest grossing film of all time with a budget of $237 million.

The record was broken last year in 2019, when Marvel Universe released “Avengers: Endgame” which grossed $2.797 billion at the world box office.
