“India Is Now Better Placed In COVID Fight,” PM Narendra Modi

PM Modi announced the launch of three new “Hi-Tech” COVID-19 facilities in Kolkata, Mumbai and Noida.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched “High Throughtput COVID-19 Testing Facilities” on Monday. The facilities are situated in Kolkata, Mumbai and Noida.

PM Modi said that India is now in a much better position than other countries in tackling the coronavirus pandemic as a result of “right decisions taken at the right time.”

These hi-tech facilities are capable to perform 10,000 coronavirus tests daily and will boost the testing capacity. These tests will assist in the early detection and treatment of the virus.

PM said that these labs are not only limited for the testing of COVID-19, in future these labs can perform tests for Hepatitis B & C, HIV, Dengue and other diseases.

These labs will reduce the turn-around-time and the potential exposure of lab personnel to infectious clinical materials.

PM Modi said, “The death rate in India from coronavirus is now far lower than other large nations. The recovery rate is better than most countries and already getting better. The world is praising us because of the efforts of the foot soldiers. We don’t lack awareness.”

He stated the current position of country by saying, “We want to save each and every Indian.” The country now has more than 11,000 COVID facilities and more than 11 lakh isolation beds.

PM further added, “What India did with PPE, masks, test kits, it is a massive success story. At one point, India didn’t manufacture a single PPE kit. Now it is the world’s second largest manufacturer. Over 1,200 manufacturers are making PPE kits within six months. Over three lakh N-95 masks are being made in India today. Three lakh ventilators can now be produced every year.”

Current tally of confirm coronavirus infections in India has risen up to 1,482,386 with 33,448 COVID deaths and 953,096 recoveries.

India reported over 49,000 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
