Hathras Gangrape Case: Rahul & Priyanka Gandhi Taken Into Custody By UP Police, “On What Grounds” Asks Gandhis

Hathras, Uttar Pradesh: In a very high dramatic scene on Greater Noida expressway, Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanks Gandhi Vadra has been taken into custody by Uttar Pradesh Police.

The UP Police took the Gandhis to the Biddha International Circuit Guest House.

The Gandhis have been detained on the grounds of violating a ban on large gatherings. Rahul Gandhi said, “I am standing here peacefully. I will go alone then. I will walk alone from here to Hathras.”

“Why are you arresting me? What are the grounds for the arrest? What law am I violating,” said Rahul Gandhi to a police officer on while being detained. The police officer said that they are being detained under “Section 188.”

Rahul Gandhi also said that, “They were Lathicharged.” In a video, a police officer threw Rahuld Gandhi on ground.

Priyanka Gandhi also alleged that she was also pushed by the UP Police.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, “The Gandhis are preparing to march alone. What is Ajay Singh Bisht, alias Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister) afraid of?”

The Gandhis convoy was stopped on Greater Noida expressway, as they were going to meet the family of Hathras gang-rape victim.

The “Nirbhaya” girl of Hathras died in a hospital in Delhi on 29 September by bearing severe injuries. She was gang-raped on 14-September by four “Upper Caste” men. The Hathras incident caused a nationa wide outrage, the protestors are demanding immdeiate probing in the case in ‘Fast Track Court’ with strict actions for criminals and a valid compenasation to the family of victim.
