Farm Bill Protestors Put Tractor On Fire In New Delhi, 5 Arrested

15 to 20 people gathered at the central Delhi location between 7:15-7:30 AM and set an old tractor on fire. Farmers gathered in large numbers and protested over the laws on Farmer’s bill, particularly in Punjab and Haryana.

New Delhi, India:

In a protest against the debatable Farm Bill on Monday morning 28th September in New Delhi, a group of men set an old tractor on fire nearby India Gate. Five people have been arrested so far in the matter as the police informed.

The fire department informed that they received a call around 07:42 am and two fire officers rushed to the spot. The group, which consisted of 20 people, ran away before the police arrived.

DCP Dr. Eish Singhal (New Delhi) said, “At least 15 to 20 persons arrived in a Tata 407 at around 7.30 am and tried to set a tractor on fire. They claimed to be members of Youth Congress Punjab. The fire has been doused and the tractor has been removed. Legal action is being taken in the matter and identity of the persons involved is being ascertained. Five persons have been detained till now and one vehicle has been sized.”

The natives also informed the police that, the people vocalized slogans before setting the vehicle on fire.

President Ram Nath Kovind has signed on the Farmer’s bill thus, now becoming an act giving it a green signal which triggered the protests across the country.

BJP’s oldest ally party Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) exited the NDA on Saturday, 26th September.

On Sunday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh, termed the bill as “Unfortunate and distressing.” saying that his government is exploring all the options, counting possible amendments to state laws in order to protect farmer’s interest.
