Europa League: Four Brazilians score as Shakhtar beats Basel by 4-1, entering semis

FC Shakhtar Donetsk beats Basel by 4-1 to enter the semi-final of Europa League against Inter Milan FC.

Four Brazilian players namely Junior Moares, Taison, Alan Patrick, Domilson scored as the Ukrainian side drive off the Swiss side. Ricky van Wolfswinkel helped the Swiss team to score a sympathetic goal opening their account.

Junior Moraes put the Ukrainian side ahead after scoring in the first two minutes of the game.

Afimico Pululu made an effort to equalize for Basel, but was grabbed by Taison hitting Shakhtar’s second goal deflecting Pululu’s shot moving forward in the direction of win.

Marcos Antônio nearly added a third goal with a frizzling shot in the 40th minute but was interrupted by Raoul Petretta who made a clear way opposing Marcos from the behind.

Shakhtar will face Inter Milan in Düsseldorf on August 17 to fight for a place in UEFA’s final. The second final will take place between Sevilla vs. Manchester United, Cologne on Sunday 16 August with the final taking place in nearby Cologne four days later Friday 21 August obviously between the two teams which will win between Sevilla FC vs. Manchester United FC and Inter Milan vs. Shakhtar Donetsk. The tournament is being conducted in a condensed format in Germany because of the coronavirus pandemic, which forced all European competitions to be rested for months.
