Cristiano Ronaldo’s delivers as Juventus nestles on the threshold to lift Serie A title

Cristiano Ronaldo’s blockbuster performance has guided Juventus FC on the threshold of winning the Serie A title after a convincing 2-1 win over Lazio on Monday 21st July. Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the spot in the 51st minute second half being set up by Paulo Dybala. This was Cristiano Ronaldo’s 50th Serie A goal, and added a second after team mate Paulo Dybala left him with an open goal three minutes later.

Bianconeri went eight points clear at the top of the league standings and could potentially retain the title this week.  Inter Milan are second.

Both the goals by Juventus FC came inside three minutes of the second half. Cristiano Ronaldo’s one shot was adjudged by VAR to have been handled outside the area by Lazio’s Bastos which the Portuguese duly converted.

Ciro securely pulled one back for a Lazio in the 83rd minute, leaving him and Ronaldo tied on 30 goals as Serie A’s joint topscorers. Lazio was only one point behind Juve when the season restarted, Lazio have lost four of their last five games after being ravaged by injuries.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri  praised Cristiano Ronaldo for his performance “Ronaldo’s an amazing player because he has an impressive ability to recover between games, I am not so much talking about the physical aspect but the mental aspect as well.

“We need to get another four points, every point is difficult at the moment when we’re playing every three days, so we’ve got to keep focused.” He further added

Juventus FC tops the Serie A points table with 80 points in 34 matches while Inter Milan stands on the second spot with 72 points and Atlanta and Lazio being on the third and fourth position respectively.
