At Least 14 People Died in Rajasthan’s Kota Boat Accident

Kota, Rajasthan: At least 14 people have died in Rajasthan’s Kota after a boat carrying over 40 people. The boat was carrying people to a temple in Indergarh area in Chambal River.

The incident occurred in Bundi district capsized in Chambar River on Wednesday morning. The incident happened under Khatoli police station of Kota district.

SP of Kota’s rural area Sharad Choudhary spoke to Time of India that, “The boat was carrying over 40 devotees to atemple in Indergarh area of Bundi district capsized in Chambal River at around 8:45 am on Wednesday morning.”

Around 6-7 bodies have been recovered and over 25 people managed to swim to the shore.

According to some locals the boat carried 40-50 people, including children and women, who were going for Kamleshwar Mahadev temple.

A source said that the boat which carried the devotees was yet to renew its fitness.
