Andhra-Telangana downpour updates: Death toll rises, properties destroyed

Hyderabad, Telangana:

States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have faced severe destruction to life and property due to heavy monsoons. Death toll has reached to 43 in the states. Heavy rain in Telangana have claimed 33 lives with Hyderabad alone lost 19 human lives. The state of Andhra Pradesh has observed 10 deaths.

Major destruction has been occurred to the property as well. More than 20,000 houses were destroyed in the rainstorm. Buildings and houses collapsed leaving a large number of people homeless and helpless. However the ruling government ministers, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah have assured all possible help to the states.

NDRF and army have been carrying out the rescue operation and provide food to those affected in the rainfall. Till now nearly 200 families have been evacuated. The entire city of Hyderabad has seen the worst rain in years.

Observing the present scenario of the weather Government of Telangana has ordered the people living in shabby buildings can be shifted to safer places if required.

Public of both the states are disturbed and unsettled because of the unprecedented rains which have damaged the places near the coastal areas.
