69,000 assistant teachers recruitment: Allahabad high court declares verdict on cut off marks

Uttar Pradesh: The declaration of results of recruiting 69,000 assistant teachers has been ordered by Uttar Pradesh’s CM Yogi Adityanath. The UP government has asked for completing the selection procedure of the teachers within three months.

The previous day a declaration on the cut-off percentage was made which stated 60 % cut-off for reserved category and 65% on the general category. Justice Pankaj Kumar jaiswal and Justice Karunesh Singh Pawar announced this judgement.

Hindustan Times reports of 3.86 lakh to have appeared for the examination amongst 4.30 lakh. The exams were held On January 6th, 2019 for the vacant posts. The officials of the educational department have assured of recruiting the teachers urgently as instructed by the Chief Minister.

CM in a press meet mentioned on appointing the teachers that “Now that High Court upheld the state government’s view on revised criteria, the department must initiate the process of recruiting teachers in a week’s time and issue appointment letters to all the successful candidates,”

These Shiksha Mitras had already filed a petition in the year 2019, which favored the candidates and the judgment was announced declaring a criteria of 40% for the reserved category and 45% for general category.
