Delhi CM Kejriwal Announces Rs. 2000 Fine On Not Wearing Masks: COVID-19 Pandemic

New Delhi, India:

Delhi CM Kejriwal on Thursday proclaimed increasing fines for people not wearing face masks from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2000. It has also been noted that the administration is looking forward to increase the number of beds for Coronavirus patients at hospitals.

Amidst battling with this unforeseen pandemic, the CM tweeted, “I appeal to everyone, all religious, social, political parties, and organisations to distribute masks to people on the street. If you wear a mask, the chances of you getting coronavirus minimise. It is very much needed to lower the coronavirus cases in Delhi. Please wear a mask,’’ said Kejriwal.

He asked the citizens to beware of the situation of Delhi and increasing cases. Hence, he pleaded everyone to wear face masks and follow proper physical distancing norms at all costs. Moreover, the CM especially focused on the point that the chances of getting coronavirus reduces to manifolds by wearing a mask. He added that since we do not have a vaccine to combat the pandemic, the only precautionary measures are left to use masks and wash hands often.

People have been seen shopping at Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar Market amid spike in #COVID19 cases. Huge crowd was obsereved in many regions of entire Delhi on the occasion of Diwali.

A local says, “Everyone should protect themselves & follow health norms to contain virus spread.”

ANI’s tweet highlights the fact that the condition of this pandemic in the capital city of India is getting worse by each day and if the citizens do not wake up now and continue ignoring the health norms, they will regret later.

It is a wakeup call for everyone to stay inside their homes and only go out, if necessary but with proper precautions.

COVID-19 Status New Delhi:

The total cases in Delhi stand at 503,084 including 42,458 active cases, as per the last health bulletin on November, 19, 2020.

Looking at the increasing number of coronavirus cases, Arvind Kejriwal also requested to celebrate Chhath Puja at home this year by banning the puja celebrations in public places like ponds, lakes and rivers.
